Mont Saint Michel

Although Mt Saint Michel is not part of our
5 night/6-day tour itinerary
it may be included, by prior arrangement.

It will normally replace the Giverny trip

It is too far to go, sensibly tour the Mt and return in a day.
  So we stay overnight.

There is, therefore, a night stop-over supplement.

Why not, have the full itinerary plus Mt St Michel
  by adding an extra day.

    2-3-4 Day Tours & D-Day Tours

Day Tours are also available according to your needs. Let us know how many days (including days travelling to and from Normandy) and we will organise an itinerary and give you a costing.

Tours from Le Havre, a favourite port of call for cruise ships, to the D-Day Beaches are also organised according to availability.
And now that Honfleur is becoming more popular for cruise ships we also offer the same D-Day tour service
For details of the tours Le Havre to D-Day Beaches and the tours Honfleur to D-Day Beaches please click on

    Day Trips from England?

Whether you are coming from Southampton to Normandy, Portsmouth to Normandy or elsewhere in UK to Normandy; it takes quite a while to get here. About 51/2 hours by ferry.

So: One has to be realistic: 'Don't even think about it'. It's a long way and all your time will be taken in travelling. Unless you can fly, there is no other suitable way.
Save Normandy for another time. Come back again and see Normandy properly and at a leisurely pace with Normandy Safaris.

However, if you want to come to Normandy from the UK and find it daunting please ask for our help. And we will guide you here.

  1. From Southampton or Portsmouth: With cruise ships terminating at Southampton, crossing to Normandy from England is relatively easy: Take a taxi ride to Portsmouth and catch the ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre where we shall be waiting to pick you up. If you send an email we will try to make this transfer as easy as is possible for you.

  2. From London: You have several options;
    a) Go via the Chunnel to Paris and catch a train from Paris St Lazare to Lisieux.
    b) Go down to Portsmouth and catch the ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre where we shall be waiting to pick you up.
    c) Fly with CityJet from London directly to Deauville Normandy:-
Catch a plane from London City Airport, which is just three miles from Canary Wharf, and connected to the London Underground via the Docklands Light Railway.
http://www.cityjet.com/dyn/pages/destinations/ directly to Deauville where we will pick you up. This is probably the least painful and most cost effective of transfers.

Standard sea crossings to, and from, the U.K. take approx. 51/2 hours.
Crossings by Fast-Craft take approx 31/4 hours
Flights London - Deauville - London take 1 hour each way.

At the end of your tour we will deliver you back to the Station or Ferry Port for your onward journey.

If you can manage only a few days, take a look at WW2 - War Week 2 Days (+ 1 day of Peace)
